You have so many decisions to make, and now you need to choose wedding favors to give out. Ok, you don’t have a clue where to start or look. Don’t worry you aren’t alone. Many bride’s have no idea what they want to give as wedding favors. Even though favors are little compared to everything else you need to make decisions on, they are important to your wedding. The favors you decide on should reflect the bride groom and play into the theme of your wedding.
A good place to start, is thinking about the theme of your wedding. Is it basic or elaborate? Also think about where you are getting married at. If you are getting married some place exotic like the beach or in Mexico, your favors can represent this.
Also, think about how many favors you are going to need and your budget. Will give out favors to every single guest or every couple? If you have a tight budget giving out one favor to every couple is more effective. Some brides and grooms choose to mix favors up. You can give out a number of one favor to some guests and another to the others. This can give you more options to play with and give your reception tables and great look.
Basic favors to hand out are things like mints, picture frames, candles, or wine glasses with the names of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding. These are great if you don’t have time or forgot about the giving out favors. You can usually go online and order many of these favors and get them shipped in no time.
Some couples donate money to charity instead of handing out wedding favors. They include the names of all the guests and give the money to their favorite organization. This is something that your guests appreciate and make them feel good. If you decide to do this, make sure you have cards to place on the reception tables to let each guest know of the donation.
An inexpensive, and fun favor to give to your guests are lottery tickets. This is fun for everyone, and who knows maybe someone in your family will hit the jackpot! Giving one or two lottery tickets to each person isn’t too expensive and leaves a little extra change in your budget for other things.
To add a personal touch to your reception tables, you can make wedding favors. The options are endless. You can bake cookies, draw, or paint it’s all up to your imagination!
Wedding favors can be as elaborate, expensive, or traditional as you want. Just make sure you do not leave them out. They are a nice thank you to each guest who took time to be at your wedding.
